Last boat post of the day, and until Memorial Day (I think), just because I think people might be getting tired of me going on about the Texas.

Did the stern, pretty much have to do the bow as well.

I will never get tired of posts about the Texas.
I’ve wanted to visit the thing for years, but never had the chance.
Texas; Our inspiration to the south. Not always perfect, but always an inspiration.
Mike: I can’t argue with that. Thanks for the kind words.
Joe: The really funny thing is, we lived in Houston for many years when I was a lad. We went to the San Jacinto monument more than once…but we never visited the Texas while we were there, or made a trip just to visit the Texas. And I don’t know why. As a child, I would have been on visiting the Texas like flies on a severed cow’s head in a Damien Hirst installation.
So seeing the Texas in dry dock was the first time I’d ever seen it. I plan on visiting it again once they figure out where they’re going to put it and get it back in place and opened up.
(As I understand it, it isn’t going back to San Jacinto. I think Galveston is a leading candidate for the permanent home.)
