The NFL regular season begins Thursday, September 8th.
The loser update will return on Tuesday, September 13th (since we have to wait for the results of the Monday night game).
In honor of great and good friend of the blog, pigpen51, we promise that we will try to avoid Detroit Lions jokes as much as possible this year.
In honor of great and good friend of the blog, Manhattan Infidel (who recently returned to blogging), we promise that we will try to avoid New York Football Giants jokes as much as possible this year.
Don’t worry, if they deserve jokes, the Lions usually provide them for free. This year many are hopeful as they have not been for a long time. I even paid for a month of HBO, just to watch the show, Hard Knocks, to see what kind of karma went on during their training camp. Dan Campbell does run a very good professional camp, pretty much like I expected to see.
He treats his players like adults and professionals, but he expects them to act like it, while still understanding that they are often young men who need different approaches to get the best out of them.
Much like the Detroit Tigers of this season, injuries will be the defining factor for them. The Tigers like any team had injuries this year, but they had more than their fair share, and it really hurt them.
