There’s a guy on the ‘Tube, “Missionary Bush Pilot“. For some reason, I find his videos oddly compelling. Also, this is RoadRich bait.
“Delivering the Kodiak Airplane for Maintenance in Papua New Guinea”. This one is just slightly over coffee break size.
Bonus, slightly longer: “Solo International Flight over the Ocean to Australia in a Single Engine Small Airplane”.
This reminds me a little of a semi-awful show that used to air on Quest. I’m blanking on the name of it at the moment, but it involved ferry pilots. The actual flying parts of that show were fine: what I hated about it was the manufactured “characters” and imposed drama. The nice thing about this channel is that Chris seems to be flying alone, so there’s no interpersonal drama.
Bait taken sir.
The delivery video was excellent. Felt like I was not only going along for the ride but getting some instruction. I see why you find it compelling.
You may be thinking about *Flying Wild Alaska* on Quest, which I also found to be entertaining and was similarly annoyed by the imposed drama. I agree, the flying parts were excellent. I’d argue that people were fine but imposing the cable-drama buildup made them caricatures, which lessened them somewhat.
That got me thinking about the ‘other’ one, which I didn’t see much of: *Ice Pilots NWT*, about a cargo delivery airline in Canada, which aired on History Television (wasn’t that History Channel?)
No, it wasn’t “Flying Wild Alaska”, as they weren’t limited to Alaska but ferried planes of various sizes from all over the world. I really wish I could remember the name of that show, because it’ll continue to occupy space in my head until I do remember it.
“Dangerous Flights”!
Now I can forget about that show.
