My wife told me about this yesterday. It was a sad thing, because he was a very fine actor. He was the kind of actor who had the ability of stealing a scene, without looking like he was stealing it. He just had a sort of presence, you know?
In his younger days, he played roles like a hitman, in a show like Mannix or such, and he made you believe that he was capable of being a real life hitman.
I had someone ask me a question on Quora about hitmen, as I have answered questions about guns. I think it was something like does a hitman use a suppressor, to keep from being heard, and thus identified as the shooter? My answer was based on one of the old time detective shows, like Mannix, or Kojack, or one of those like that. I told him that if a hitman was a real thing, he would most likely use the loudest, most firebreathing pistol he could find. He would want any possible witnesses ducking and hiding, or running for cover, and not sticking their heads up trying to see where the funny noise came from. And that a suppressor did not actually make the gun silent, it just reduced the sound some, to help keep from injuring your ears.
